X-Ray Technician – West Texas Health

Location: Abilene, TX

Job Type: Position will begin as part-time, with the opportunity to transition to full-time no later than January 2027

General Description:
We are seeking a dependable, skilled, and compassionate X-Ray Technician to join our growing clinical team. This individual will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures and supporting clinical staff in providing the best care possible to our patients.

Major Duties Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
  • Work collaboratively with providers to ensure diagnostic accuracy
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control standards
  • Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions

Minor Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in front desk operations when needed
  • Support clinical team with other duties as assigned
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and imaging areas

Qualifications:

  • ARRT certification (or equivalent state licensure)
  • TMB
  • Current CPR certification or training will be provided
  • Knowledge of radiology safety protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience preferred, but new grads are welcome to apply

The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role involves extensive data entry and supports our billing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post medical charges accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure data integrity for all billing entries
  • Utilize electronic health records (Athena)
  • Collaborate with front desk and billing teams for smooth workflow
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Experience:
    • Prior medical charge posting experience (preferred)
    • Familiarity with EHR and medical billing software
    • Clerical or business office background
